Alesis MultiMix 16USB  - I grabbed this new piece from Alesis to use with my quick and easy mobile setup. It's got all the hookups I need for a small setup I can grab out of my car trunk when visiting another studio or recording away from my normal rig. I chose the USB version although there also is a firewire piece, but that would have been overkill for this small setup. My laptop full of all my favorite software (sequencers, synths, and FX plug-ins), my CAD e200 mic that has survived my car trunk for 5 years now, and this new mixer / USB audio interface. Yo, plug in my homeboy's gear and the audio goes to my laptops HD via that built-in USB port. It's a wrap! The Alesis MultiMix 16USB is a compact-sized 16-channel mixer featuring eight low-noise mic/line inputs with up to 50dB of gain, switchable phantom power and switchable 75Hz high pass filters. Every channel has a 3-band EQ and two auxiliary sends (one switchable pre/post fader, 1 post fader). Besides its separate main and monitor outputs, the MultiMix 16USB also features a S/PDIF digital audio out.
